One of the empowered group of central secretaries has asked state governments to reach out to over 1.11 lakh civil society organisations (CSOs) and non-government organisations (NGOs) to pitch in to combat the pandemic. In letters sent to chief secretaries of all states on Thursday, the panel asked states to take the help of NGOs to effectively execute ‘micro containment’ strategy and reinforce Covid-19 safe behavior to reduce the impact of the second surge of the pandemic.
